Where's the joy?

I confess I tend to smile too little. I've had people tell me: lighten up. My experience with Christmas is that a thot will emerge as my theme or focus for several weeks, it energizes and haunts me. Late November as I read the gospel accounts of the incarnation Mary's words (Luke 2:46ff) became my Christmas thot: my soul glorifies the Lord ... my spirit rejoices in God my Savior ...

Does my spirit rejoice? If so, why?
Does my soul glorify the Lord? One can easily sing and enjoy all the beautiful Christmas music (trust me I cranked up the volume a few times) ... yet, does it really come from my soul ...

Dare I smile just a little more, dare I lighten up just a little more? For me it means letting go of SELF and moving closer to GOD in my spirit and soul ... it's not just a thot, I want to smile more because God is Savior AND "he has been mindful of his servant."

Family Christmas

Family Christmas
As parents we truly are blessed! Our children are between the ages of 21-28, it was a joy to be together at home, December 15. We had our gift exchange, played games and enjoyed Julie's wonderful cooking. Keeping with tradition "Santa" brought the family another game: Wise and Otherwise. We highly recommend it...
